In this lesson your child deepened his or her understanding of the
Mass and the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Help your child to appreciate that Jesus is truly
present to us in the Liturgy of the Word, preparing us
for union with Him in the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
Having been reconciled and nourished by the word, we are
called to share the Lord's Supper in the Eucharist. With
the gifts of bread and wine, we offer ourselves to God
as living sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving. Then,
renewed by the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ,
we are called to be "bread of life" for
others--especially the poor and the suffering.
Responding at Mass
Practice the Mass responses with your child. Point them out in My
Mass Book and encourage your child to
participate as fully as possible at Mass.
