Your child is now completing Coming to God, the first grade book
about the Catholic faith. Your family is to be
congratulated for its continued interest in and support
of your child's growth in faith. Your interest need not
stop here but should continue through the summer months
with experiences of prayer and good works. Living out
our Catholic faith as disciples of Jesus is a lifetime
vocation.
Recall with your child some of the most important truths learned
this year. Share with your child why your faith in God
is so important to you. Help your child to participate
as fully as possible at Mass each week.
Talk over what you will do as a family to live the Law of Love
during the weeks of vacation.
A Blessing
There is an ancient Church custom of parents blessing their
children. This is a wonderful custom to continue in your
family.
 Trace
a cross on your child's forehead and pray:
May the Lord Jesus, who loved little children, bless you, my child.
And I bless you in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
