This week your child learned that Jesus is both the Son of God and
the son of Mary. He is true God and true man in the
unity of His divine Person. Because Jesus was human like
us, He shared the same joys and sorrows we share. He was
one of us; as Scripture reminds us, He was "like us
in all things but sin" (Hebrews 4:15). This
affirmation of the full humanity and full divinity of
Jesus Christ is a central dogma of our faith.
A Holy Family
Help your child to understand that Jesus was born into a human
family. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are called the
"Holy Family." They really loved and cared for
one another. Make a list together of ways your family
can try to be holy. Then pray:
 Jesus,
Help us to be like you
In what we do and do not do.
Help us to be loving and kind.
Mary and Joseph, pray for us
to be a holy family.
