This
week your child continues to learn about what it means
to be a member of the Church. The Second Vatican Council
reminded Catholics that by our Baptism we are called to
participate actively in the life and ministry of the
Church--both in prayer and in service. Here are some
things you can do to help your child understand more
fully what it means to be part of the people of God.
We
Serve Others
Talk
together about the Catholic Church as the people of God.
Talk about different ways Catholics serve one another in
your parish church or in your neighborhood.
The
Mass
Ask
your child to draw a picture of God's people gathered
together at Mass. Encourage your child to pray, sing, be
reverent, and well-behaved whenever he or she goes to
Mass.
