Chapter 21: Easter

This week your child was drawn more deeply into the Easter story. The paschal mystery (the life, death and resurrection of Jesus) is a fundamental belief of our Christian faith, and all our liturgical feasts are related to it. It is at the center of our whole Christian life.

Easter is not only the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus, but also the manifestation of the new life we share in and through Him. That is why this is the time for the Church to welcome new members through the sacraments of initiation--Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.

Work together with your child on the Faith Summary. Encourage your child to learn the statements by heart.

Faith Summary

  • Jesus rose from the dead on Easter.
  • We celebrate Jesus' new life.
