This lesson helped your child to appreciate that of all God's
wonderful gifts to us, Jesus is the greatest gift. Your
child's growing relationship with Jesus was nurtured
through a reverent telling of the story of His birth.
Encourage your child to tell you the story now in his or
her own words.
It is important to be clear in your own mind that the
Incarnation--God becoming flesh in Jesus--is at the core
of our Catholic faith. What a marvel! God became fully
human--one of us. This is our Catholic faith: Jesus is
fully divine and fully human--like us in every way
except sin. Go over the Faith Summary on page
101 to help your child
come to a deeper understanding of the meaning of God's
incarnation in Jesus Christ.
During this week help your child understand that God loves us so
much that God's Son became one of us.
A Thank You Song
Encourage your family to express their gratitude for the greatest
gift. Join in singing the song on page 101 to the tune of
"London Bridge Is Falling Down." Then have
your child sign the Thank You card.
