In this Lenten lesson your child learned about Palm Sunday--the
people welcomed Jesus into their city shouting
"Hosanna," which means "We praise
you!" Let your child tell you about the
"praise Jesus" celebration and the flower lei
the kindergarten children made to praise Jesus. Take a
few minutes to go over the Faith Summary on page
125 together to deepen your child's understanding of the
lesson.
You might want to make Mass on Palm Sunday a special family event to
hear the story and receive a blessed palm. Put the palm
in a special place at home as a reminder to say,
"We praise You, Jesus."
A Sign of Welcome
As a family make a "welcome" sign to be displayed in your
home. The sign on page 125 is a sample. Create your sign out
of heavy weight paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, etc.
Add your own greeting of welcome. Encourage your child
to participate by decorating the sign.
