This
week your child learned that God gave us our ability to
feel, to experience emotion. Like our senses, our
feelings are a gift from God. Help your child to begin
to understand that not all feelings are happy and that
sometimes it is good to be angry or sad or hurt. All our
feelings are good, unless we misuse them or allow them
to be excuses for hurting ourselves or others. It is
what we decide to do with our feelings that makes the
difference. Children need to know that God and you will
always love them, no matter how they feel.
Ask
your child to tell you what each of the statements in
the Faith Summary on page 29 means. They present the core of this
lesson.
When
your child shows different feelings, take time to talk
about them. When feelings of anger are expressed, for
example, be sure to help your child find appropriate
ways to express that anger.
Loving
Prayers
Help
your child write names of the people he or she loves on
the cloud. Have your child choose one person to pray for
each day.
